Exercise 6

We used a tracking shot when Pat walks past the manger and Christmas tree

We used a pan when Pat is standing with the lights above him

We used a tilt when seeing Santa Claus and the Christmas tree

Final Cut Pro was used to edit the project.  Each picture lasts for 5 frames.

Samsung Powershot type camera.  Set the camera to motion capture which captured five shots per second

Framing.  Tried to keep Pat in the center of most shots with the background telling the story.  However, the one shot where Pat is tracked, it was felt wise to give significant lead room so the background would be emphasized greatly.

The Lighting was mostly natural except in the second to last shot in which a spotlight was bounced off of some white decoration deer

Music is Diana Krall, causing the youtube version to be banned in Germany.

Take Home Question Chapter 3: Lighting Director

I dont not agree with the Lighting director, because I think that if you want to get the picture of a model an ECU would be better to accurately show the models face. The extreame close up also has a cameo on the picture because the lighting in back of the model is pointing towards her.

Exercise 5

As my day starts off,  I decide that I will go to the Thompson Library to gain some knowledge by reading books.

I easily get distracted with the recently built starbucks and quickly notice that they have my favorite coffee, "Pumpkin Spice Latte"

Right as I was about to get on line, I remembered that I had originally came to the library to read books. Not to drink coffee.

While Iam walking up the stairs, I remembered that I needed a book for my Sight, Sounds, and Motion class

My search ends quickly when I find the book withing seconds.

I am eager to get to class, so all I have left to do is check the book.

I finally get to class where I meet my fellow classmate Edgar. He is also catching up on the chapters of the class.

We then start to discuss the weeks lesson and start to talk about what chapters we need to study for.

I picked this photo because I like how Toby used the rack-focus on the cat. At first you see the garden or backyard as the whole picture but the black cat is what sticks out and its just focused on that

Scene Description

An area where is known to be for its tranquility and stillness, is being over taken by the blatant keyboards. You are surrounded by the procrastinators as well as the hard workers. The crammers are rushing to find seats in the room for the reason that they are trying to do their last minute work. Others are just being curious about other people social life. As you observe the look on the students face that are getting their work done, they look puzzled to know why people come to a room meant for work, as a place to socialize with others. As you step out the computer room you smell the aroma of beans that are being stirred to make the couple hundred people their coffee for that morning. You’re surrounded by undergraduates conversing and networking with one another. Obnoxious people are also around you yelling and talking about irrelevant things from school.
Hookups are being made and from boy to girl and vice versa.  Aides and librarians are always helpful to the public. They always have a face of concern for anyone that needs their assistance. That’s their main priority after all.
Overall, the main focus is everyone is entertained by homework. Of course you have the slackers that do not do any work what so ever but you will always be around those people. I feel the tranquility as I wander around the building. After all isn’t this what you’re supposed to be feeling from being here? The technology is what makes everyone procrastinate. As you walk from floor to floor you will see at least one person on a technological device. Is that what our future holds? We stop ourselves from knowing what is going around the world because we are so worried about other people’s social life or that statistics of the night before game.
